The Veterans Day National Ceremony will be held today at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. with a prelude concert by the United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” inside the Memorial Amphitheater and continues with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns at 11 a.m. The event will conclude with a ceremony inside the Amphitheater with a parade of colors by veterans’ organizations and remarks from dignitaries. Intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces, this year’s event is hosted by Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki, Russell C. Vowinkel, Commander-in-Chief of the Military Order of the World Wars, and Major General Michael S. Linnington, Commander of the U.S. Army Military District of Washington and the Joint Force Headquarters–National Capital Region. Can’t make it to Washington, D.C.?
