Itchy eyes? Sneezing? Runny nose? That’s when you know it’s hay fever season. And if those bothersome symptoms strike, there’s one homeopathic medicine you can look to for relief — Galphimia glauca.

A Mighty Medicinal

From Histaminum to Apis mellifica, there are several homeopathic single medicines providing relief for all sorts of allergic conditions. But to address the specific symptoms of hay fever, Galphimia glauca is a top choice. It’s traditionally used to relieve itchy nose, runny nose, and spasmodic sneezing brought on by this type of seasonal allergic rhinitis.* Over the last few decades, German clinical studies have also shown Galphimia’s positive effect on hay fever.1-4

What’s In It?

The homeopathic medicine Galphimia glauca is made from the leaves and blossoms of the “shower of gold” plant. Botanically known as Galphimia glauca Cav., this evergreen shrub is one of several Galphimia species hailing from tropical areas of Central America and Mexico. Today gardeners adore its attractive yellow flowers and easy care, but long ago it had a history in pre-Hispanic folk medicine. Herbal infusions were used for various ailments, including stress and pollinosis (aka seasonal allergies). The herb contains high levels of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds, most notably quercetin.
