You may notice a multitude of men sporting mustaches this month. That’s because November is Movember — the annual charity event where guys across the world sport a hairy upper lip to raise awareness for men’s health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and suicide.
Movember originated in 2003 in Australia and is organized by the Movember Foundation, a now multinational charity that raises funds for men’s health projects and programs around the world. Participants agree to grow a mustache for one month, with the hopes of inspiring discussion about the charity and its mission. Many take part in mustache-growing competitions and donate the proceeds, as well.
There’s another way to get involved. Both women and men are invited to move in Movember by running or walking 60 miles throughout the month. Participants can compete solo or on a team, and raise money by asking friends or family to sponsor their effort. Why 60? That’s the number of men, globally, who take their lives each hour.
However you participate this month, there are a few Boiron topicals that can help you put your best foot (and face) forward!
Those pledging to pound pavement should have Arnicare Cream handy to relieve muscle pain and stiffness.* It’s ideal for massaging into sore legs and aching feet.
When December hits and regular shaving resumes, try Calendula Gel. This non-greasy formula relieves skim irritation from razor burn and refreshes on contact.* Calendula Ointment can be used on nicks and cuts from shaving.*
