Today’s blog comes from one of our favorite homeopathic experts, Joette Calabrese. Joette inspires mothers and others to learn about homeopathy. What we love about Joette is that she teaches homeopathy in a way that makes it usable and practical.
When I was a young mom trying to keep my kids away from superfluous drugs and antibiotics, I would have given my right arm to learn which remedy was right for a particular earache, sore throat, or sinus pressure.
I remember many times sitting in my kitchen with my homeopathic textbooks spread out on my table. By textbooks, I mean TEXTBOOKS: Thick homeopathic volumes with pages as thin as my family Bible. They contained Latin words, medical terms, and can be tough to interpret late at night when your kid is screaming due to an injury they incurred from falling out of their bed.
The worst part is that I was utterly alone. My homeopath had moved out of state and I was left to my own limited knowledge of homeopathy to help relieve my kids’ symptoms.
It was awful. And stressful.
But I found a solution: My girlfriends and I started holding monthly homeopathy study group meetings. We selected a curriculum designed for moms and began learning how to use homeopathy.
When someone in our group somehow contracted pinworms (yuck!) she was able to reach out to me because I had successfully dealt with the same issue in my own family. I’ve learned that Cina 6 relieves sleep disorders associated with pinworms.
And when sinus pressure took down another friend’s husband, again my little group kept right on healing our families, and we likely used Sanguinaria 200.
Our group of moms were reeling and dealing homeopathic remedies to our kids and family members like it was nobody’s business!
Later in life, I studied homeopathy with the best of the best. I became confident in homeopathy and have found great success in educating my clients on many ailments.
But I could never forget about the younger version of myself: a frantic mom, scrambling through the academic homeopathic textbooks late at night, trying to find the right remedy.
Indeed, I’ve never forgotten her.
Today, I want to tell you that starting your own homeopathy study group is easier than ever. Creating your own support system of moms who are ‘in the know’ about homeopathic remedies makes you and your group of gals a force to be reckoned with.
You can learn to say with confidence, “Move over, doc. I’ve got this.”
Together we can change the way our family addresses health!

I would like some help with a non topical medication for eczema. Are / is there a treatment in pellet form? I have tried calendula with no results.
My clinician has given me many topical products and none provide relief.
Thank you for your help.
Candace
Hi Candace, homeopathic treatments for eczema are very specific to each patient. There may be a homeopathic treatment that addresses your condition, but we recommend consulting a practitioner knowledgeable in homeopathy. If you do not have a practitioner, please contact the National Center for Homeopathy at info@homeopathycenter.org or visit http://www.homeopathycenter.org.
I am in desperate need of a remedy for a scratch inside my nose. Dry sinus with bleeding!
Hi Tonya, Pulsatilla 6C may be helpful in your case. It’s indicated to relieve nose dry at night associated with a cold.
How to rid of pinworm? Much appreciate your experience
Hello Stephanie, for pinworms, please consult with your healthcare provider. Thanks!
