With its bright and cheery flowers, it’s easy to see why the marigold is a favorite among gardeners. However, there’s more to this flower than meets the eye. Among the dozens of varieties that exist, there’s only one that is both a showstopper and a natural healer.
Calendula officinalis is the marigold species used medicinally in Boiron’s line of first aid Calendula topicals. The golden petals are a rich source of antioxidants and packed with skin-healing and soothing properties.
To create the highest quality homeopathic medicines, Boiron uses Calendula plants grown exclusively in France. Not only does this reduce the environmental impact of transport, but it also guarantees this ingredient’s purity and traceability. Harvesting requires scientific and traditional knowledge. Boiron partners with regional family farmers who have passed down this know-how for generations. They skillfully pick, clean, and prepare the plants for their arrival at Boiron laboratories.
After rigorous quality control methods are completed, a tincture is created from the macerated flowers for homeopathic preparation into creams, ointments, gels, and other medicines.
We love sharing our ingredients, why we use them, and where they come from. Visit BoironCalendula.com for more information about Calendula topical products for first aid and skin irritation relief.*
